I love fall—and I know I’m not alone!
There is something so magical about the colors on the leaves and the way they blanket the ground as they fall. The world becomes so… pretty.
Of course, there are many of us who like to help it along by going all-out with our décor. Wreaths, pumpkins, brightly colored leaves… fall melts into Halloween, and the décor continues on.
I think that’s part of why decorating for fall is so fun. Some people start as early as August, and those decorations stick around until October, sometimes even November. It’s not like decorating for Easter, where you maybe only get a week or two of enjoyment out of the decorations. Fall decorations stick around for the long haul.
Because fall decorations stay up for so long, it’s good to add some new pieces to the mix every year. But shopping for fall décor can get so expensive if you go for the pre-made items.
Fear not, creatives! There is so much gorgeous fall décor that you can make, even on a budget—and I’ve compiled this list of 20 gorgeous fall DIYs to get you started!
And so, without further ado, the list!
20 Gorgeous Fall DIYs
01. Wooden Bead Garland
Wood bead garlands are so cute, and can be put just about anywhere for a little bit of autumn décor. Drape it over some shelves, place it in a cute basket, or wrap it around a pumpkin. It’s such a simple project, but that’s what makes it so fun!
02. Pumpkin Beaded Bracelet
Did you make beaded bracelets when you were younger? I loved making all sorts of animals and flowers out of small seed beads when I was a kid, and these adorable pumpkin bracelets bring me right back. This is a fun project on your own, or with kids!
03. Crochet Pumpkins
These pumpkins are too cute! String them to make a crochet pumpkin garland, or arrange them in a wicker basket or amongst your other fall décor. Maybe make a cute little display of them alongside your wooden beaded garland!
04. Fall Embroidery Hoop Wreath
If you love wreaths, here’s a super simple project to try with an embroidery hoop! Use your favorite autumn colors to make something that matches your household décor. It would also make a gorgeous gift for a housewarming party!
05. Mini Polymer Clay Pumpkins
I am obsessed with all things polymer clay, and I’ve made my fair share of these adorable mini pumpkins. You can do so many different things with them, too! Turn them into earrings or necklace pendants, add them to a larger project like a doll house, give them away to your fellow pumpkin lovers, or give them faces and turn them into pumpkin pets!
06. Leaf Stamped Napkins
These stamped napkins are so pretty, and they add a subtle touch of fall without going too crazy. This is perfect for people who want to add some fall to their décor without being too showy about it. They also make gorgeous gifts!
07. Watercolor Paper Leaf Branch Mobile
This branch mobile is gorgeous and would look stunning on your wall. It’s so pretty in its simplicity and would look great with some other fall décor under it. You could also put it over windows, or use a little glow-in-the-dark paint to add designs that are only visible when the lights are off!
08. Fall Felt Coasters
Some people just can’t live without coasters, and if you’re one of them, why not try this simple felt project? Felt is inexpensive and easy to find, so it might also make a good project for a sewing party or craft workshop! (Not familiar with craft workshops? Read my post, How to Make Money Teaching Craft Workshops)
09. Pumpkin Spice Bath Tea
If you’re a big self-care person who loves long baths and fancy bath products, this is a great project for you! Pumpkin spice bath tea will definitely add an autumn touch to your self-care routine, and it also makes a fantastic gift!
10. Wood Bead Pumpkins
Here’s another adorable wood bead project which would look lovely in your home! This little wood bead pumpkin is fairly simple to make and doesn’t require a lot of fancy supplies. (You can even get wood beads at Dollar Tree!)
11. Fall Macrame Leaf Hanging
This little macrame leaf hanging is seriously adorable. Change up the thread type, the colors, and the branch you use to make something seriously one-of-a-kind. Plus if you master the art of macrame leaves, you can create macrame leaf earrings, necklaces, and more!
12. Burlap Pumpkin Banner
Burlap, twine, and pumpkins? You can’t get more “autumn” than that! This cute banner would be great inside or outside—either on its own or draped around actual pumpkins! Of course, you’re not limited to burlap! This is definitely a craft you can customize to your own tastes and décor style!
13. Felt Pumpkins
More pumpkins, of course! These super cute felt pumpkins are fairly simple to construct and look absolutely adorable. Why not cut out some Jack-o’-lantern face shapes out of black felt and add them? While Jack-o’-lanterns cut from real pumpkins only last a few weeks, you can pull these ones out year after year!
14. Pumpkin Coasters
Another coaster pattern because you really can never have too many coasters! If you crochet, this is an adorable pattern to tackle. These also make fantastic gifts, particularly for housewarming parties and bridal showers!
15. Macrame Pumpkin Cover
Who wants a boring pumpkin sitting on their porch? Not me! Fancy those fall favorites up with a macrame pumpkin cover. It might seem a little superfluous, but fall is a great reason to go a bit over the top. You can’t go wrong with this pretty project!
16. Acorn Garland
This is another adorable garland project that you can put just about everywhere! Utilize acorns you find on the ground, or purchase some wooden craft acorns in stores like the Dollar Tree.
17. Faux Leather Fall Earrings
This is a Cricut project, but if you don’t have a cutting machine of your own, you could certainly trace some leaf shapes into the faux leather and cut them out by hand! (Don’t let your lack of a fancy piece of equipment stop you from making art!) I love the simplicity of these earrings; they’re stunning.
18. Acorn Nest Necklace
This is such a pretty, yet simple, fall necklace. You really only need the top of an acorn, some little blue beads (or make some eggs with polymer clay!), glue, and necklace chain. (Okay, maybe a few other little things, but that’s the general idea!) I seriously love it.
19. Fall Leaf Garland
This felt garland is so pretty, and would look stunning draped in front of a window or perhaps over a bed headboard. It really goes to show that gorgeous crafts don’t have to be complicated and that you don’t need to break the bank to put together beautiful fall décor.
20. Pumpkin Pot Holder
I love this patchwork pot holder; it would make a great addition to any kitchen. Particularly one decked out for fall! And because it’s a patchwork project, you can use up scraps that you already have lying around. I really enjoy crafts that can use up the little pieces I have left over from other projects. Hopefully, you’ve been keeping all your fabric scraps!
