Ten Places to Buy Fabric Online – Canadian Edition!

Are you looking for new Canadian places to buy fabric online? Check out this blog post for ten awesome shops!

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a small commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you.

There are so many great fabric shops online—but unfortunately, many of them are American. Which, of course, means the prices are in American dollars and the shipping to Canada is outrageous.

While there are companies that rent PO Box addresses to Canadians so they can have a US shipping address, and companies that will bring your packages across the border for a fraction of the cost of Canada Post, this whole process can be a bit of a hassle. Unless you’re ordering in large quantities, it just might not be worth it to you.

But don’t be discouraged! There are tons of amazing Canadian-owned online fabric shops to meet all your sewing needs. Between promo coupons and free shipping on certain purchases, you can get the fabric you need at an affordable price.

I like shopping on Amazon for a lot of things—but generally not fabric. When you’re shopping online and not able to see and feel the material before you buy it, it’s worth it to spend a little extra and order from a place that really knows the product they’re selling. A lot of these sites are highly curated (like the Fabric Snob), and pride themselves on only carrying products with quality they trust.

Where do you order your fabric?

As a Canadian, I find online shopping can be incredibly frustrating. Between our dismal dollar and the exorbitant shipping prices, simple projects can get quite costly. Ordering from local fabric shops can help, particularly if you’re able to arrange for local pickup.

Are there any amazing Canadian fabric shops that I’ve missed? Link them in the comments so everyone can benefit! And if you’re drowning in fabric and looking for some projects to use up smaller pieces, might I suggest you check out my free pattern archive?
