I am always looking for an excuse to try some new crafting projects. Birthdays, holidays, season changes… you name it. Crafting is how I unwind, reflect, and exercise my creativity. It’s a major part of who I am, and how I navigate life.

It should come as no surprise to anyone, then, that pride month is another awesome excuse for crafting. It’s the perfect time to make bright, colorful DIYs celebrating pride and the progress that we’ve made.

Of course, bright colors and rainbows aren’t limited to pride or pride month, which is why these fun rainbow DIYs are honestly perfect for any day of the year.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some bright, fun, rainbow-themed DIYs that you can make for Pride Month!

15 Rainbow DIYs Perfect for Celebrating Pride Month

01. Rainbow Crochet Earrings

Photo from Divine Debris.

If you love crochet, these adorable earrings would be a great crafting project to undertake. Make some for yourself—and maybe a few extras to give away or sell! They’re bright and cheery (admittedly, so are all the crafts on this list!) and will add a dash of color to any outfit.

02. Wristlet Keychain

This is a simple sewing project that anyone with a sewing machine can tackle. I’ve made so many of them. Just recently I made this new rainbow one for Pride Month! If you don’t want to make one yourself, visit Whim & Muse to buy one already made (by me!).

03. Rainbow Button Earrings

Photo from Upstyle Daily.

I really love these button earrings! Not only are they great for pride month, but they’d also be super cute for a teacher gift or gift for an artist. And if you love this look, here’s a tutorial for a rainbow button bracelet. (Check out the tutorial here.)

04. Rainbow Wood Bead Garland

Photo from Manda Panda Projects.

This rainbow wood bead garland is a great little décor piece that you can use in so many different ways. Hang it, drape it, wear it—think outside the box. I love the bright colors that Manda Panda Projects uses and think it makes an excellent statement piece to liven up a room.

05. Embroidery Thread Tassel Earrings

Another idea for lovely rainbow earrings, courtesy of Making with Megan. These simple earrings would brighten up any outfit, offering a pop of color that can be either a subtle nod to pride or just indicate a love of pretty things!  It’s a simple, but gorgeous Rainbow DIY for you to try!

06. Crochet Rainbows

I don’t crochet, but I might have to start—because these little rainbows are super cute. Sew them onto bags, string them, and turn them into a banner, or leave them around as a part of Random Acts of Handmade. Whatever you do with them, I’d love to see a picture of them out in the wild!

07. Quilted Pride Flag

Photo from Modern Domestic.

If you love to sew, and quilt, and make flags (that’s a lot of things, I know!) then this project is perfect for you! Hang this adorable, quilted pride flag in your window, or make it bigger and turn it into an actual quilt for your bed! I love the way Modern Domestic has laid out this quilted flag, and the fabrics used!

08. Scrunchie

Photo from The Serial Creative.

Scrunchies are another awesome DIY project because you can make them in any color or pattern, and they’re suitable for wearing all year long! I just made myself a rainbow scrunchie for Pride Month, but I’ve also made too many other scrunchies to count. If you don’t want to make one yourself, visit Whim & Muse to buy one already made (by me!).

09. Pride Embroidery Floss Bracelet

Photo from Two of Wands.

Did you grow up making these adorable friendship bracelets? I grew up in the 90s, and they were a staple. With this project, you can revisit some childhood crafting fun while also making a statement. This is a great project to make while watching TV or listening to a podcast. You can even make them on a long car trip! (As long as you’re not driving, of course. For obvious reasons, that is not advised.)

10. Rainbow Heart Hair Clips

Photo from Little Hiccups.

I love these little polymer clay hair clips. They’re easy to make, and tons of fun to wear. All of the things you need to make them are easily accessible, and they come together quickly. This is a project you can do on your own, or make with the kids in your life. And if you need something pride-themed in a hurry, these come together quickly. Give it a try!

11. Macrame Rainbow Wall Hanging

Photo from Marching North.

Whether you want to show off your pride all year long, or you’re just big on the rainbow décor, this macrame rainbow wall hanging could be a fun project to tackle. And, of course, you don’t have to make it with the standard “rainbow” colors. Try any variety of colors that suit you!

12. Rainbow Zipper Pouch

Photo from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom.

This zipper pouch is such a fun little project—if you don’t mind working with zippers. If you hate zippers with a passion, you might want to skip this one because it’s all zippers. It’s so colorful though, and perfect for carrying all those little pride goodies you want to give away at your local parade. (Like pins, ribbons, friendship bracelets, etc.) Will you give it a try?

13. Rainbow Striped Tote Bag

Photo from Handmadiya.

I love a good tote bag sewing pattern. You can really never go wrong with another bag, especially where I am (Canada). Local stores require shoppers to bring their own bags—or buy the expensive reusable ones they sell—because plastic bags aren’t available anymore. Give this bag pattern a try; you’ll save money at the store and show off your pride!

14. Rainbow Felt Letterboard

Photo from Aww Sam.

I love letter boards. They’re cute and can be used for so many different things. They make a great background for product photography, but they’re also awesome for displaying inspirational or funny messages. They can also be quite pricey, which is why this DIY is so awesome. Its primary materials are cardboard and felt which are both inexpensive and easy to find. I definitely need to give this project a try!

15. Rainbow Layered Soap

Photo from Lovin Soap Studio.

Of course, I can’t forget a cute rainbow-layered soap! This is a cute project that has lots of different uses. You can put a bar in your bathroom, but it would also make great wedding favors! I’ve never attempted to make soap myself, but this project looks fairly simple… so I think I may have to give it a try. How about you?

Which of these Rainbow DIYs will you try this Pride Month?

I love projects that utilize a lot of bright colors. Color makes me happy; it adds a lot of joy to whatever the project in question is.

Of course, the projects on this list don’t have to be limited to pride or pride month. You can make bright, colorful projects just for the sake of it. Rainbows are for everyone, regardless of your sexual orientation! And if color brings you joy like it does me, use it!

I’d love to see your rainbow creations! Show them off on Instagram and don’t forget to use hashtags #theserialcreative #pridemonth #rainbowdiys #pridediys
